Meet Dr. Louis B Sachs
A native of Southern Maryland, Dr. Sachs graduated from Chopticon High School in 1978. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Master of Science degree from the University of Maryland-Baltimore County (UMBC) and his Doctor of Dental Surgery in 1988 from the University of Maryland, Baltimore College of Dental Surgery. He resides in Leonardtown with his wife and children. Dr. Sachs has been in private practice since 1988 and established his practice in Solomons, MD in 1991. In his spare time, Dr. Sachs enjoys reading, especially Clive Cussler’s various series.
Our Services
Over the last 25 years, Dr. Sachs has taken many continuing education courses. He has completed the USDI orthodontic program and is a certified Invisalign provider. Recently, he completed the Sleep Complete program, sponsored by Henry Schein, to broaden his knowledge of Obstructive Sleep Apnea and to be able to provide more choices in the treatment of OSA. He has also completed the 3i Continuum in implant restorative dentistry. In addition, he has taken classes taught by key dental opinion leaders, such as Dr. Ron Jordan, Dr. Stanley Malamed, Dr. Gordon Christensen, Dr. Robert Nixon, Dr. Dan Nathanson, Dr. Ross Nash, Dr. Larry Rosenthal, Dr. Norm Feigenbaum, Dr. John Kanca, Dr. Jon Suzuki, Dr. Ron Goldstein, Dr. Roger Levin, Dr. Tom Limoli, Dr. Jim Pride, Dr. Kit Weathers, and Linda Miles.
About the Practice
Dr. Louis Sachs established his private dental practice in 1991 in Avondale Center in Solomons, Maryland. His dental mission was to have a comprehensive dental practice in a caring environment, using top quality dental materials and laboratories. In addition, outstanding features of Dr. Sachs’ practice is the time spent with patients and seeing patients as close to their appointed times as possible. These key features are different from most dental practices, where low quality materials and labs are used and schedules are jam packed with patients.
Education is another important facet of Dr. Sachs’ practice as Dr. Sachs and his staff take CE courses given by key dental opinion leaders to keep abreast of current dental treatments. The office is one of the most technologically advanced practices in Calvert County. In the past year, the practice has added digital radiographs and charting, digital intraoral photography, digital impression scanning, a diode laser, and Sleep Complete, a dental sleep medicine program, in addition to our existing technologies, The Wand Anesthesia System, and Zoom Whitening.
Another key aspect of Dr. Sachs’ practice is that you will see familiar faces. We added two new staff members within the last two years, due to the retirements of two long term staff members, while the other staff members have been with Dr. Sachs for an average of 18 years!
